Fourth day: Hilary Macmillan and Farley Chatto

Today is the fourth day of the fashion week in Toronto and in the afternoon I will go to see two runways of two designers: Hilary Macmillan and Farley Chatto.
Let’s see who they are in my mini column Mission: who is the designer?


Hilary MacMillan is a women’s clothing designer based in Toronto. Her brand was founded in early 2012 with a focus on creating wearable designs for the modern urban woman. Her effortless style is completed with flattering silhouettes and a modern femininity with a touch of retro. The use of color and prints is a staple of design seen constantly during her collections. Raised in Toronto, MacMillan has always had an interest in fashion. After graduating from the University of British Columbia has started working as a trainee in Vancouver and then returned to Toronto to open Elle Hardware, a jeweler boutique with her sister. In early 2012 she created her own label Hilary MacMillan. MacMillan has presented her collections twice during the World MasterCard Fashion Week. Hilary designs and manufactures all of its designs in Canada.

The Canadian designer Farley Chatto depopulates globally with fashion eye-popping. In addition to having created the costumes for Elton John for the concert AIDS fundraising in the UK, he dresses celebrities like the actress of Sex & the City Sarah Jessica Parker, Chris Noth and songwriter Canadian rapper Drake.

Chatto has participated in the fashion program at Ryerson University in Toronto, where he established his line ” Farley Chatto ” while still a student. He later had the opportunity to live and work in the United States and Europe, working with many top American and European designers and getting a wonderful offer to apprentice with Giorgio Armani. Now based in Toronto, Chatto continues to create stunning garments for his men’s and Woman ” Farley Chatto ” and is excited to introduce its line of luxury fur, this fall! He provides haute couture for an international wide and exclusive clientele.
